The Dynamic Ving Tshun system is structured in training levels
The gradation begins with the student grades (SG) then follow the technician grades (TG) and master or Practitioner grades (PG).

The first training phase consists of 12 training programs and each program is dealing on a specific issue. Each new student grade is based on the precedent and the student should be able to utilize it. With regular training it takes about 3 months for each student grade. At the end of each training program students are giving examinations and if they succeed, they go to the next grade. After the 12th grade students are candidate trainers.
The second training phase concern the four technician levels (1-4 TG) – the so-called teacher grade. The DVT training in this phase consists of techniques that are very dangerous and require a special degree of control, sensitivity and responsibility. The existence of one of the four levels means that the teacher can apply these techniques in the fight.

The third phase includes a total of four master degrees, and make the master respectively practitioner. A master of Dynamic Ving Tshun have a lightning-quick reflexes by the intensive training of Chi Sao. A master of DVT also knows the theories and concepts of all the other martial arts. With this knowledge a master of DVT can be optimized and can convey his knowledge to others.
